Mike Hansen founded Hansen Fitness for Golf in 2001; he has been involved in the fitness industry for over 17 years, as an athlete and trainer. He began training for various sports in high school. Immediately, he realized the benefits of training which were becoming stronger, faster and more flexible. After high school, Mike chose to study exercise science at Purdue University. Upon receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, he began working as a personal trainer, helping athletes prepare for their respective sport. His love for the game of golf and witnessing firsthand the negative effect a repetitive swing has on the body, he chose to concentrate on helping golfers strengthen their body for a stronger, injury free swing, Upon becoming a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, he designed a golf conditioning program for a local health club, and has never looked back.

 

Mike completed the Titleist Performance Institute Level 1, 2, and 3 Golf Fitness Instructor certifications, as well as the level 2 Golf Biomechanics certification. He continues to work closely with the top PGA golf instructors to understand the ever evolving golf swing and which muscles are affected by the swing. Mike has helped many golfers become stronger, healthier, and injury-free, including PGA & LPGA professionals as well as top college and junior golfers. While continuing to coach at Hansen Fitness for Golf in Irvine, Mike is also the Director of Golf Fitness at Tustin Ranch Golf Club, and Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course in Mission Viejo, California. Mike has also recently designed a golf fitness facility at El Niguel Country Club in Laguna Niguel, California where he is the head coach. Similarly, Life Fitness and TPI brought Mike on at Dove Canyon Country Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, California to be the head of Golf Fitness coach in their facility. He has also written a monthly golf fitness column for Southland Golf Magazine, and conducts seminars to teach golfers how to condition their bodies to play better golf.

 

Mike is also the owner of So Cal Junior Golf Performance, a TPI based junior program, which focuses on creating the athlete first in all junior golfers ages 5-15. Mike has a passion for creating athletes, and showing people of any age how fitness can improve their life.
