A handicap will be out of range when something in the calculation is amiss. Most often it will be one of the following four things: 1. You may have switched the slope and rating numbers (The rating is usually between 65 & 75 while the slope is between 105 and 135). 2. You are entering 9-hole scores, but entering in the full 18-hole slope (70.0 instead of 35.0). 3. You may have misentered a score, slope, or rating, or have used a placeholder instead (ex:entering 1 for slope) 4. You may have mixed nine hole and eighteen hole scores.
